Rachel Gasataya, better known as Chella Ladie is a New Jersey Native.  Born in Newark, NJ and having lived in the Philippines, she grew up in an environment listening to all kinds of music.

 

Growing up, she learned to play multiple instruments, with her main one being the piano.  Graduating from William Paterson University, she received her bachelors in Sound Engineering with a focus on classical piano.

 

She has worked with musical acts such as Nino Augustine and Celia Das.

​

Her love of piano has given her a variety of hats to wear.  She has worked as an accompanist for high schools such as Belleville High School, West New York High School and NJPAC Hispanic Youth Showcase.  

​

As an accompanist, she has also worked for Episcopal, Catholic, Presbyterian and Methodist churches.

 

While in school, she has gained experienced working for private and classroom music education. 

 

Eventually in 2014, she opened up her own music studio in Bloomfield, NJ called Sixteenth Notes Music.  Upon hiring a saxophone instructor, Catherine Sikora, she eventually realized her love for jazz and the new instrument. 

 

She is now currently studying for her masters in jazz performance in NJCU, Jersey City.

She will be releasing her album in 2021.  It will encompass sounds of jazz, hip hop, and contemporary classical. Keep your ears open!
